Demonstration Exhibit at NICT Open House 2025
We participated in the NICT Open House 2025, held on Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), where we showcased a live demonstration.
The NICT Open House is an annual public event that opens the doors of NICT’s research facilities to the general public. It offers a unique opportunity to explore the latest achievements in ICT research, interact with researchers, and experience cutting-edge technologies firsthand. The event is popular not only among professionals in the field but also among families and students. In 2025, the event welcomed over 2,000 visitors across the two days.
At our technology booth, we presented a poster exhibition and a hands-on demonstration where visitors could remotely operate a dual-arm robot installed in Yokosuka. People of all ages?from seniors to students and young children?enjoyed the experience.
Visitors were able to try remote operation under unstable network conditions caused by jitter, and then compare it with our technology that absorbs jitter to provide a stable communication environment. Many were surprised by the smoothness of the operation, with comments like “Is this really remote-controlled?”
Visitors listened attentively to our explanations.
One person operated the rover, while another controlled the robot arms, working together to guide a stick without touching the walls and reach the goal.
Team Challenge: Reach the Goal Together!
It’s Difficult, but Fun!

In Moonshot Goal 1, a national project in which NICT participates, the aim is to enable anyone to engage in social activities without being physically present at a specific location, by remotely operating a cybernetic avatar as their substitute.
This presentation introduces the project’s overview and explains the high-reliability communication technologies being developed by NICT to support this vision.
