Radio Communication Environment Quality Estimation and Control Technology based on Cooperation between Base Stations and Terminals

Outline

To ensure the reliability of CA teleoperation, it is important to improve the reliability of wireless communication technology for CA control.

The performance of wireless communication depends on conditions such as the distance between the CA and the base station, the density of the CA, and the surrounding environment. In addition, requirements related to wireless communication performance, such as control response time and data communication capacity, depends on the operation of the CA. Therefore, to maintain teleoperation according to the operation of the CA, we will develop a Local 5G-based SSC that optimizes its service area.

In addition, regarding a communication area for CA teleoperation, the service range will change depending on environmental changes such as CA operation and density. To realize flexible deployment of communication areas that can follow such changes, we develop an SSC function that cooperate with an area database with map by defining areas that can be provided for each service level in layers.

In order to graps the operation status of the CA, a terminal connected to the CA is required. Therefore, we will develop a terminal that can connect to a CA and connect to multiple wireless communication systems such as public 5G/4G, Wi-Fi, and local 5G. We will develop a technology that manages the location information and wireless information of terminals in a database, assigns appropriate service levels to terminals, and optimizes the entire wireless communication system.

To support the autonomous operation of CAs outside the SSC service area, it is necessary to introduce technology that maintain the network access even outside the SSC area. In this project, we will develop a technology to maintain the connection between the operator and CA by utilizing other wireless systems such as public 5G or Wi-Fi outside the SSC area. Specifically, we will develop multiple wireless communication system cooperation technology that enables smooth connection to other wireless systems.

In order to maintain remote control of cybernetic avatars (CAs), we will develop smart spot cells (SSC) using local 5G and technology to optimize service areas according to communication conditions and CA conditions. We will develop a function that links the communication performance requirements according to the operation content of the CA and the service level that can be provided, an area map, a function that links with a database (DB), and a terminal that implements that function. We will develop technology that smoothly switches the connection destination between public 5G/4G and Wi-Fi and local 5G when moving between areas covered by SSC.
